Scientist. Microscopist. Structural Biologist

Hello!

Since my time as an undergraduate researcher, my imagination has been sparked by the ways structural biology can provide comprehensive molecular insights.  I am passionate about developing methods to interrogate protein structure and working with diverse teams to answer fundamental questions in biology. Currently I am a Scientist at a pharmaceutical company.

I grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from Barnard College in 2012 with a B.A. in Chemistry.  After graduation, I worked as a research assistant at the University of Wisconsin - Madison for two years.  In 2014, I went to Caltech and joined Grant Jensen's lab to work in methods development for cryoEM.  I defended my PhD on November 22nd, 2019. I studied membrane protein biochemistry and methods development for Microcrystal Electron Diffraction (MicroED) in Tamir Gonen's lab at UCLA.

When I'm not collecting and processing electron cryomicroscopy data, I enjoy hiking, biking, and breadmaking.  I enjoy riding my bike to raise money for charity.
